Flight of a dream .

Those chiselled dreams , which fly and flutter giving us the glimpse of the possibilities of  infinite blue sky . But time slowly tear off those tiny little feathers , picking them one at a time making the flights difficult each passing day . Sometimes you just have to make a leap of faith , to see if you can ever taste the sweetness of the moment when dreams are embraced in the warmth of reality . Even with clipped wings , pain and possibility of failure and death becoming unlikely friends , the utter bliss of the moment when you touch the blue sky of your dreams , is enough to trump a  sea of despair.

Behold, let me look deeper;
Signs of life and some kind of flutter.
The bird is dying, she can’t lift her wings;
Breathing slowly waiting for the end.

The end will come soon she knows it well;
Her soul will fly somewhere to distant land.
They say its heaven or hell where they go;
For a bird like her, how will she know?

She lived her life like any other bird;
Hatched out of egg and learning to fly.
Gliding around looking for food;
Till a tangle of the string, brought her down.

She loved to fly and the view from the top;
Everything seemed tiny, there was no stop.
She left her nest too far behind;
Lost in wild skies as the dusk arrived;

She always dreamt of distant lands.
Snow peaked mountains and forests so green;
He nest at a roof top of a smoky city.
Made her wonder if it will forever stay a dream.

Then one day she made a leap of faith.
Chasing her dream as she flew away;
Miles and miles of lands she crossed;
At last here they are, the mountains with snow.

Her vision got bleak as the dusk came;
The mountains were there but still some miles away.
She wanted to reach before the nightfall;
Tired and hungry she was bound to fall.

And fall she did as she was flying low;
Tangled in a string she hit the ground.
Looking at the mountains as the darkness grew;

Closing her eyes, the bird has flown
